The O-Level Art: Drawing & Painting Course (Ages 12 to 16) is an immersive art experience tailored for aspiring creatives aged 12 to 16, who possess a passion for pushing the boundaries of artistic expression. This course serves as a platform for improving their art skills with the aim of eventually sitting for the Matsec Art O-Level Exam
The teacher will guide students through the intricate art techniques and will be exploring a variety of materials, textures, and themes.
During this course you will be focusing on learning the following skills:
- Use observational skills and different drawing techniques
- Draw and paint with more confidence
- Demonstrate a confident use of colour and techniques
- Work with a range of media and develop your own style
- Relate your work to contemporary and historical styles and ideas
This course suitable for preparation for MATSEC's O-Level Art, provides different sessions on all mediums and techniques (e.g. pencil shading, perspective, still life drawing and painting, watercolour, pen and ink, acrylics etc). All the necessary skills which may be required to sit for the Matsec Art O-Level Exam will be covered throughout the course.
An amount of Course-Work necessary for the O-Level will also be completed during the course with the help of our qualified teacher.
Conducted in small, interactive groups of not more than 12 students, this course cultivates a safe and supportive environment that encourages collaboration and individual growth.
Course Details
- Mode of Study: Once weekly (1.5 hours each lesson)
- Duration: 10 weeks
- Location: Art Academy Zurrieq (88, Triq Matteolo Saliba, Zurrieq)
- Requirements: Students will need to bring their own art materials
- What’s Included: Upon attendance of 80% of the Course, students will be accredited for their Informal Learning, thus given a signed and stamped form for their Informal Education by the Institute.
