The Agate Burnisher is a wooden tool with a polished agate stone tip designed for the burnishing of gilding done with the water gilding technique.
The agate stone burnisher is used for burnishing and polishing water gilding. When the base is dry and stabilized, polishing it with this stone and exerting the correct amount of pressure on the leaf obtains a polished final effect. The different forms available are designed to be used according to the contours of the surface.

The No. 9 Burnisher has an approximate stone length of 4.5cm and a stone width of 3.5cm.
Additional information
For better use of the tool, you are advised to heat the stone slightly by rubbing rapidly on a wool cloth prior to use. The stones are highly sensitive to scratching and damage and should be stored carefully.
