About Us

Welcome to Art Academy Malta — a family-run creative hub built on passion, experience, and a deep love for art.

Art Academy Malta was established in 2005 by Charles and Jackie Micallef, following more than 30 years of experience in business and a shared dream: to create a space dedicated entirely to art, creativity, and artistic expression. That dream became a reality in the heart of Malta’s commercial district, offering a calm and inspiring oasis for artists, students, and creatives of all levels.

In our main store in Mosta our well-stocked art supply retail outlet brings together an extensive range of fine art, craft, and creative materials — everything an artist could wish for, all under one roof. Our intermediate floor houses the Art Gallery, an exhibition space where art takes centre stage. Jackie Micallef, an artist herself long before founding Art Academy Malta, regularly showcases her latest works here, alongside other exhibitions.

The first and second floor is home to our spacious studios, where a variety of classes and specialised lessons are held, including art, pottery, craft, photography, and more. Art Academy Malta is a place to relax, learn, share ideas, and engage in meaningful conversations about art in all its forms.

At the heart of Art Academy Malta is a strong sense of family and community. Over the years, our customers and students have become friends — not just clients — and we are deeply grateful for their continued support and trust. Today, the family tradition proudly continues through the next generation. Through the involvement and dedication of daughters Rachelle Cremona and Christabel Micallef, the business has grown beyond its original home, expanding to multiple locations, including Żurrieq and Gozo, while remaining true to its founding values.
