This Introductory Course to Electronic Music Production Techniques is designed to help you through the first steps of producing your own electronic music. Throughout the course you will learn and explore the art of electronic music production through various practical and theoretical principles. By the end of the course you will be able to start producing your very own tracks.

  • Lesson 1: Introduction to Music Production

  • Lesson 2: Approaches to Music Production (Hardware/Software)

  • Lesson 3: The Tools of the Trade (Synths/Samplers/Drum Machines)

  • Lesson 4: Sampling, Slicing and Chopping

  • Lesson 5: Basic Music Theory

  • Lesson 6: Ideas, Sequencing and Automation

  • Lesson 7: Track Arrangement

  • Lesson 8: Mixing and Post Production

  • Lesson 9: Assignment Explanation and Work

  • Lesson 10: Student Open Session

This course is suitable for complete beginners and no prior music production experience is required. Students are, however, expected to comfortably operate a computer. Groups are kept small to ensure individual guidance and attention.

Course Details:

  • Mode: Once Weekly (2 hours each lesson)
  • Duration: 10 lessons
  • Where: Art Academy Mosta (131 Constitution Street Mosta)
  • Requirements: Students will need to bring their own laptop, wired headphones and DAW software (such as Ableton Live).

  • Open to all ages (12 and above)
