Basic Visual Narration
Master the essentials of storytelling with dynamic visual techniques:- Panelling Techniques: Dive into comic panel styles, such as splash and bleed panels, to control pacing and enhance storytelling impact.
- Shot Types: Use different shot types—mid shots, long shots, and close-ups—to create depth, highlight key actions, and convey emotion.
- Narration Boxes and Speech Bubbles: Design narration boxes and speech bubbles that seamlessly blend with your comic style, making dialogue clear and engaging.

Stylistic Features

- Onomatopoeia and Emanata: Use comic-specific onomatopoeia (sound effects) and emanata (visual cues like motion lines or sweat drops) to add energy and emphasis to your illustrations.

Storyboarding Essentials
Build a solid framework for your comic's story with essential storyboarding techniques:- Plot Mapping: Organize your plot’s structure, pacing, and key moments to create a captivating narrative.
- Developing the Story: Craft a unique comic story, short or long, focusing on character development, conflict, and resolution to keep readers engaged from start to finish.
The Comic Art & Illustration Course is carried out in small groups. Art Academy is fully air-conditioned and is equipped with televisions, projectors, and sound system.
- Mode of Study: Once weekly (2 hours per lesson)
- Duration: 10 weeks
- Location: Art Academy Mosta (131 Constitution Street, Mosta, Malta)
- What’s Included: Hands-on teaching, PowerPoint presentations, live demonstrations, handouts, and individual attention.
- Certification: Upon attendance of 80% of the Course, students will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance and will be accredited for their Informal Learning and given a signed and stamped form for their Informal Education by the Institute.

Course Funding
Tax Deduction on Fees paid for Cultural and Creative Courses:
Parents of children under 16 who attended any Cultural or Creative courses at Art Academy are eligible for a tax deduction scheme of up to a maximum of €300 for each child. Parents are entitled to claim a deduction against their chargeable income of up to a maximum of €300 for each child.
You don't need to do anything, we will apply for you after the completion of the course.
