The day of the sinking of what is probably the most famous passenger ship in the world is now celebrating its 100th anniversary. Everyone, young and old, knows the tragedy of the Titanic. The elegant steamer was to be used in the prestigious transatlantic liner service of the White Star Line. But already on the maiden voyage to New York, the Titanic collided with an iceberg on April 14, 1912 at around 11:40 p.m. (board time). The ship brushes against the iceberg on the starboard side and sinks into the icy waters of the Atlantic after two hours and forty minutes. Only 712 people survived the disaster.
