Position: Watercolour Art Teacher
Location: Mosta and/or Zurrieq
Employment Type: Contractual basis, with opportunities to lead one-time workshops or structured 10-week courses, meeting once weekly.

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Watercolour Art Teacher to join our creative team. In this role, you will lead engaging, hands-on courses and workshops that cater to students of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced artists. Your role will involve teaching a comprehensive range of watercolour techniques and having full knowledge of the art materials to guide students develop their skills. Your expertise in watercolour techniques, such as washes and gradients, along with your knowledge of different papers, brushes, and paints, will be essential in guiding students through their artistic journey.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Class Preparation and Instruction: Create and deliver dynamic lessons focusing on various watercolour techniques, including washes, blending, and layering. Customise your teaching to accommodate the different skill levels and artistic goals of your students.
    • Encourage Artistic Expression: Inspire students to experiment with colour and technique, helping them to cultivate their own artistic voice and style.
    • Provide Personalised Support: Offer individualised feedback and guidance to assist students in improving their techniques and achieving their artistic objectives.
    • Collaborate on Curriculum Development: Partner with the Head of Education and fellow instructors to design and enhance the watercolour curriculum, ensuring it encompasses both traditional methods and contemporary practices.
    • Maintain High Standards: Ensure that your instruction adheres to high artistic and educational standards, providing a solid foundation in watercolour painting.
    • Foster a Positive Environment: Create a supportive and motivating classroom atmosphere that encourages creativity and exploration.
    • Utilise Teaching Aids: Incorporate visual aids, demonstrations, and technology to effectively communicate techniques and enhance the learning experience.

    Requirements:

    • Portfolio of Work: A strong portfolio showcasing your watercolour paintings.
    • Artistic Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of watercolour techniques and art materials, including different types of paints, brushes, and papers.
    • Teaching Experience: Previous experience teaching watercolour or other art forms is preferred but not essential.
    • Fluency in English
    • Excellent communication and resilient self-starter with a positive attitude.
