This Kit contains 50ml Antique Primer (Antikklarlack) and 50ml Crackle Varnish (Reisslack-Medium). The combinations of the use of these two varnishes offers the possibility of a varnish finish with a classic cracle effect. 

How to apply:

The image is first coated with the Antique Primer and allowed to dry for 80 to 100 minutes. Within this time span, the latest after 100 minutes, the crackle varnish is applied. The thickness of the cracking depends on the thickness of application. A thin layer creates many fine almost delicate cracks. A thick lacquer layer is used only if an icon is to look very old and rustic.

The basecoat and the laquer are water-soluble and tools and brushes may be cleaned with water.

This Kit contains the following: 

  • 1 bottle of Antique Primers (Colourless Glossy) 50ml
  • 1 bottle of Crackle Barnish (Colourless Glossy) 50ml
  • 2 small mixing beakers (30ml)
  • 2 stirrers
