The ‘Children's Art Course’ for children aged between 9 to 12 years is specially designed for the young artist who wants to dive right into the world of art and design.
The Art Course teaches the necessary art techniques in a fun and creative way, boosting the students' creativity and imagination. The students will learn how to work with some new materials, textures and themes.
- We teach our students how to handle different media with structured approaches that explore the technical aspects of drawing skills first, followed by painting media such as acrylics and watercolours.
- Encourage art students to adopt new perspectives and see the world with a critical eye.
- Our art tutors will provide art students with a variety of art historical knowledge and art techniques in a fun and creative way suitable for their age.
- We provide art students with sustained, structured art tuition which we tailor to the needs of each student.
- Provide engaging art lessons that can boost the art student’s confidence and self-esteem.
- Encourage art students to bond and cooperate with other students attending our art classes.
- Stimulate art students with new subjects and contemporary approaches to get them to strive to think creatively, be original, discover, and innovate.

We also organise pottery sessions during most of the courses to help students explore 3D projects.

Course Details
- Mode of Study: Once weekly (1.5 hours each lesson)
- Duration: 10 lessons
- Location: Art Academy Mosta (131 Constitution Street, Mosta, Malta) or Art Academy Zurrieq (88, Triq Matteolo Saliba, Zurrieq)
- Requirements: Students will need to bring their own art materials
- What’s Included: Upon attendance of 80% of the Course, students will be accredited for their Informal Learning, thus given a signed and stamped form for their Informal Education by the Institute.
Course Funding
Tax Deduction on Fees paid for Cultural and Creative Courses:
Parents of children under 16 who attended any Cultural or Creative courses at Art Academy are eligible for a tax deduction scheme of up to a maximum of €300 for each child. Parents are entitled to claim a deduction against their chargeable income of up to a maximum of €300 for each child.
You don't need to do anything, we will apply for you after the completion of the course.
