During this mosaics workshop, you'll unlock your creativity as you transform a plain metal base into captivating mosaic seahorse decor.
Guided by experienced artist Jackie Micallef, you'll embark on a creative journey that combines the timeless beauty of the ocean with the vibrant allure of mosaic tiles. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a first-time creator, this workshop welcomes all levels of expertise.
In part 1, you will briefly be introduced to the art of mosaic and you will learn the basics of:
- How to make a mosaic from start to completion
- Materials, adhesives, substrates, tiles, grouts used for indoor/outdoor mosaics
- How to cut using mosaic cutters
- Make your own mosaic using techniques learnt in the classroom
Following this, we will provide you with a 30cm metal sea-horse base, all tiles, glue, grout and a photo, as well as glass nippers to cut the tiles. You will next start to work on the Seahorse Mosaic artwork under the guidance of the teacher.
